After-School Activities Are Back!
The summer holidays are over, and a few weeks in we are officially back into the school-term routine! After weeks of slower mornings, later bedtimes and summer adventures, getting back into the swing of school can take a little adjusting – for parents and kids alike.
And while the school day might finish around 3pm, we all know that’s often just the start of the afternoon! From swimming and dance lessons to homework, dinner and downtime, after-school hours can be busy. That’s why having a few simple routines – and plenty of comfy clothes – can make all the difference.
After-School Activities and Clubs Are Back!
September means not only the return of the school week but all those after school clubs and activities that took a break over the summer. Football, gymnastics, dance, swimming, Cubs, Brownies…the list goes on!
For parents, that often means dashing straight from the school gates to the next activity, with snacks, water bottles and changes of clothes in tow.
One handy addition to the kit bag? A cosy onesie.
After swimming lessons, there’s nothing nicer than getting warm and snug – particularly as the evenings start to get cooler as we head into Autumn. Once they’re dried and changed, popping on a soft onesie makes the journey home much cosier and saves the need for putting together another outfit.
They’re great for dance lessons too. Whether worn over a leotard on the way to class or slipped on afterwards, a onesie is an easy extra layer for getting to and from lessons – especially when you’re trying to make a speedy exit!
From School Uniform to Serious Comfort
Even on the days without any after-school activities, getting home after a long day at school often calls for a change into something a bit more comfortable.
School uniform off, onesie on!
A soft, cosy onesie is perfect for that in-between part of the day when kids just want to relax. They can curl up on the sofa with a snack, watch their favourite programme, tackle a little homework or simply enjoy some much-needed downtime before dinner.
As the nights begin to draw in and temperatures start to drop, it’s also an easy way to add a little extra warmth without reaching for the heating quite so quickly.
Take The Time to Wind Down
Going back to school can be tiring, particularly during the first few weeks. After a full day of lessons, concentrating, socialising and activities, giving children time to properly switch off at home can help make evenings feel a little calmer.
Create a simple after-school wind-down routine: change into something comfy, grab a snack, have some quiet time and then move on to homework or dinner when everyone has had a chance to recharge those batteries.
And when the day has involved school, swimming, dance lessons and homework? We think getting into a favourite onesie is very well deserved!
Here’s to a happy new school term filled with busy days, fun activities and plenty of cosy evenings at home.
